Hi, At the north ! end of the lake near Llanfor is parking. Earlier this year we arrived late & drove past the parking bays onto gravel at the waters edge. We were also out of sight of nearby properties. We are always away by 8.00 in the morning so rarely experience problems.

Hope this helps. Dezi

If you leave town towards the Bala end of the lake railway and follow the road (B4391)to Llangynog.
The road climbs and has some bends on it,you will then come to a flattish section just on the Powys boundary,on the left is a hillock and a parking area behind, you can stay for days and no one will bother you.
Not quite Bala but near enough to matter,it is known as the Milestone and is marked on OS map Bala and Lake Vyrnwy.

Well Jed,

actually, I know one who's capable - me :-)

But as we are at almost 2,8 tons weight with the 16" and all our stuff for 3 weeks, I would like some easy riding...

Are there any spots you can point me towards? Coordinates welcome!

Thanks a lot!

Jörg
