Kingsbarns

Found this in http://www.campingcar-infos.com/index1.htm
Kingsbarns (Fife):
Autres services : Aucun service. Des WC qui étaient fermés lors de notre passage ( Juin )

Could this be correct ? (or don't underestimate those Frenchies )
(beware Scotts: the frogs are there allready ! )

This spot is superb!

After traveling along the coast all the way up the North side of the Firth of Forth we had just about given up finding a good wild spot and I pulled over, got out the laptop and started to look for a CL when I came across this post. We were literally 4 miles away so went to check it out. I am so glad we did. This is our second night here and it is fabulous. Kingsbarns is 8 miles south of St Andrews on the coast. As you approach from the south, just as you enter the village there is a sign pointing right down a lane for the Coastal Path. Follow this down for about a mile (plenty of passing places) and it brings you out to a large gravel car park right over looking the sea and a superb beach. There doesnt appear to be any No Overnighting signs and we were not bothered last night. Lots of people walking dogs etc but after 7pm we were on our own all night. Highly recommended.

You echo my sentiments Jaques, It just shows the value of a laptop on board although I know this is frowned upon by many

Hi,

We found this place a few days ago, by accident, when looking for somewhere to break our wildcamping duck.

Beautiful spot, no signs to say we couldn't stop overnight and I was suprised we were the only ones staying there as it was Bank Holiday Saturday.

We were joined for about an hour at 11pm by one "Max Powered" small car with 4 yoofs. Apart from a couple of donughts when they arrived and left they stayed on the other side of the car park and didn't bother us though.

We'd definitely stop here again if we were in the area.

Tish

Same here.
We parked up on Easter Saturday night and likewise, 1 car came in did a couple of circuits and then left.
We were the only MH there.
One car (estate) stayed the night. Youngish couple who had a little gaz stove and made beans on toast for brekkies.
Must have been a wee bit uncomfortable though in the back of the car.
Good spot, hope it doesn't get too popular though because the golfers on the nearby course might start complaining.

We were there last weekend - lovely spot and Friday night was lovely - just us and 2 other motorhomes. On Saturday, it was us again and 2 different motorhomes, and a few lads camping on the beach - not causing any trouble. About 7.00pm, the police arrived and spoke to the lads, then left - the lads came over and told us they'd been told to move on, and the police would be back in a couple of hours to make sure. They asked if we'd been told to move on. We told them we hadn't but suggested they move down the beach a bit to avoid any problems later.

But - about 9.00 a load of cars started to arrive, and the lads came back over to warn us that there was going to be a massive beach party, and it looked like it was going to get quite wild. They hadn't known about it, but it was nice of them to warn us. Would have been nicer if the police had warned us earlier - we reckon they must have known it was going to kick off. So, I guess the moral is that these less-remote places are maybe better in colder weather!
