Another thing I found was that if you put your wife down as the main driver (assuming you are insuring for yourself & spouse) it can be cheaper don't know why. Didn't work in my case as the wife had a bump on her insurance if not I could have got it a bit cheaper.

Remember a no claim bonus is not a no blame bonus, so if you have a mishap and even not your fault...there is a chance you will revert to 7 years ncd.

It may well be 7 yrs and 9 makes little difference to the premium worth asking the question though or playing about with the quotation system.to ascertain the £65 saving.

Unless Mrs Kontiki is the main driver, not worth the saving.
Trust me on this one

You may recall from another posting, I mentioned about tying deals up the next couple of days.

This morning I spent 2 hours with RBS motor insurance, The conversation was in respect of issues, Identyfying fraudulent proposals and Personal injury claims.

not my idea of fun exactly on a Monday but needs mustSuffice is to say is DO NOT be tempted to try and pull a fast one to reduce your premium.

Safeguard were more than double Flux's price for me and that was with discount for storing my truck in a CASSOA gold storage place.
As already said shop around.

I wouldn't for a moment disagree with shopping about, Insurers are a shifting sand in what and whom they are trying to attract.

My personal experience of safeguard is they mirrored my 9 year ncd from a car and transferred it to the van.

This year out of interest I let the cc quote and it was double. £325 v £700 plus, and the cover wasnt as good in terms of continental travel. With safeguard I have 12 months continental cover as opposed to 9 months recently revised from 6 months.

Naturally, I will shop around again in April renewal time, but I am am only sharing my own experience

Crazy isn't it? Some people get amazingly good deals and others the total opposite.

If it helps , I was once told a good deal is a state of mind !!

The fact remains insurers are constantly balancing the desire to attract new business against their potential liabilities. It is not to dis-similar from a bookie extending odds to balance the books when he gets a big wager on a favourite etc.

I would agree the nature of the market is to shop around.

NFU now theres a name I havent heard muttered for many a year. NFU at one point were really way ahead of the game in accepting unusual risks.

I agree worth a quote
