Have just remembered this is still shooting season. Quite a few shooters meet in the Riverside parking area at weekends.
The shooting season ends on the 1st of Feb.
Therefore I suggest any time after that date.

nowhereman - we are pretty new to this and we've not been to a 'wildcamp meet' yet.
If there is space for us we would be interested in attending.

The weekend of 12 February would be good for us

Regards

The parking area is for patrons of a small licensed restaraunt(The Riverside Restaraunt) run by a lovely woman called Kareen.
I have explained that motorhomes will be there from fri till sun.
The weather is really bad there just now and it may be more sensible to have this meet in Feb.
Kareen has been very helpfull and if we can indicate how many people are going to be there, she will organise food for those that wish, such as local venison stew. Although the restaraunt is licensed, Kareen is happy to allow our own drinks to be brought in if we want.
This place is probably the most quaint and unique setting for a meet that I can think of.
Now all we have to do is agree on a suitable date for the meet.
Local Venison Stew, Would,nt that be "Too Deer" for us poor folk Ian

We can't make this meet, as much as we'd like to see some of you lot again, we're going to Spain. But only for 10 weeks ! We'll be back early April.

Attached is a photo from the last meet we attended, at Hayfield.

View from the top of Kinder Scout (I think).

Best Wishes for the New Year.

Hi, do you have a postcode or something, so Ic can work out the distance. I work until midday on a Sat so cannot really do an 8 hour commute after work.

However, would love to come!!! It will be our first wildcamping adventure.
