Mike B .Just back. The area mentioned is just as stated on tin. Basic toilets 60 yds from car park. Local buses arrive around 8.30 turn round and
disappear. Bar staff great. Superb views and quiet at night. Only two motor homes over night when I stayed. Myself and a French couple with large camper and trailer, car park took us both, but it may take three large vans at a push. On a sunny day car park may be full with visitors cars. Local info re bird life and history in bus shelter.Swimming in sea not recommended from here, dangerous currents.

good to know, hope to get up there there next month, have you ever stopped in Annan? trying to find more spots in the area - preferably with fishing.

Looking for somewhere to stop overnight enroute to Castle Douglas. Is this still ok and does the pub still serve food? Their website doesn't say and with so many pubs closing down, just wondered if this one still exists?? Thanks.

Go South out of Dumfries on the A710 to New Abbey. There is a car park at Sweethearts Abbey (and water in the graveyard). The pub on the bend (on the left hand side) as you enter the village used to be run by a motorhome owning couple but its a few years since we were there. It is a pleasant run to castle Douglas that way.
