Tried out one of the POI for the south shore of loch Tummel..the first from Pitlochry. It is about a 5 mile drive on single track road with limited passing places. Anyway...it was a good spot for 2 vans and great views along the loch. At night watched as the deer came down to feed. On the way their spotted a few places where one van or a small camper could pull in...did not go further. From where we were we could see alll the tourists up at the view point for Queens View.
I just wished we had more time there as it was really peaceful with only a few cars passing...the north shore road looked a lot busier.

I stayed at this same spot a month or so back - it's spectacular.

The road carrying on to the west gets easier, and offers more places to stop.

It's well off the beaten track, and I recommend it highly.

We drove along the road on the north side, and found nowhere to stay. The only places are Forestry Commission car parks with 'no overnight' signs ...

I've used this spot many times and quite a few others along the south side of the loch. Over the years the local land owner has put rocks in place to prevent parking up. The spot is a popular one for fishermen and they unfortunately are wrecking it for everyone as they leave litter everywhere when they leave. I was camped up once and a local, with a police escort was performing a "survey" which if you read between the lines was to build up a case to close off the area to wild campers. With this in mind please ensure you clean up after yourselves otherwise it will, like many other spots be closed to us.

Just to clarify, it's the spots right next to the Loch itself where some spots have been closed off.

The spot referred to above is off the road away from the Loch, but with great views of the Loch, and should still be just fine.
