Hi sillybug.
We were there a couple of years ago and parked up with the Land Rover & caravan right next to the lake on the big piece of ground near the campsite. It had a sign stating no wild camping, but hey this is France and there were lots of motorhomes parked up with no problems. Later met up with another Brit who had found a nice secluded beach elsewhere on the Lake.
Bonne Vacance.:)
PS Have just checked out www.airecampingcar.com and there is an actual aire there.

we went there last year the aire is at the rear of the camp site a dirty filthy place i would not recomend the place or the roads to get there from the a75 they are narrow and satnavs are a little useless sendung you up dirt tracks
but enjoy the local area lots of caves ect.
we moved on quickly to the sete agde road n112 that is between the sea and the lake .dozens of wild spots all along the 10 to 15 miles of road
look at this

We went last year in July. Fantastic place. The Mayor of the town has stopped motorhomes from parking overnight on the front - residents complained. We moved the van about 5.30 to a couple of streets back from the beach road. Fantastic, very quiet, police patrolled a couple of times all was ok. Three other motorhomes parked near us. Hope this helps
