Lovely area, I've been a regular visitor for over 40 years.
Be aware that the last two locations quoted are National Parks land and you may attract the attention of a warden.
There used to be signs about this but they were vandalised and went missing.
There is a commercial site at Middlewood Farm but it is very expensive.

This could be very useful...thanks, would we have to arrive later in the day for the first location you linked (the large car park), or is it pay and display?

you are better off spending the night at the 2nd spot (great views ) it's flatter than the 1st and then move early next morning to the car park opposite the victoria pub done this lots of times no probs
p.s.it is pay &display:cool:
take an oxygen bottle and mask:eek::D
