Hi does anyone know of a good stopover, preferably by the sea in Northumberland, Amble, Seahouses etc etc?

Many thanks

Hi teasy and welcome to the site.

Boulmer is a nice place for a stopover. When you come into the village, turn right at the T-junction. There is a car park next to the beach on your left. You cannot miss it.

There is a pub that serves meals in the village. you cannot miss that either.:D

We overnighted there recently and had no problems.

Unfortunately we will not be returning. We have 4 whippets and the place was alive with Rabbits. They were in a state of permanent excitement with the thoughts of a kill.:o

South of Amble-follow signs for caravan park then keep going you'll see a small car park on your left as you head south (if you get to the second caravan park you have gone to far).

Great access to the beach, we stayed here a month or so back-no problems and no rabbits, bacause of the ferrets-keep an eye out around dusk, we watched a family of ferrets cross the road and then raid the bin on the car park, keeping out of the rain by hiding under the other motorhome.

Just got back yesterday from Hadston, just South of your stopping place.

Plenty of Rabbits, no roads and hardly anyone to witness the dogs adventures.

Would have still been there but a small lake was forming under the van. The rain was like stair rods. The wind generator was performing very well in the conditions.

We had the same weather in Scarborough.

there is a great little car park at Cocklawburn Beach, just north of Holy Island. I was there this week. Or there is a spot right next to the causeway to Holy Island itself.
