We are planning our first European trip with the CV in Oct, planning now as busy before we go. We arrive in Sandander 16 Oct by ferry and will then travel West around the coast. I have downloaded aires from Portal y foro de usuarios de furgonetas camper (http://www.furgovw.org/index.php) for my new Garmin 1390T, which I have just ordered lots of sites around the coast.

A friend has built a place south of Coimbra in Portugal and retired, will visit him and then back up through France to catch the Ferry around 5 Nov. Plan B would be to leave the van with friend and fly out in Jan to enjoy some warmer weather.

I think I have the answers to most of the questions I had, from this site thank you all.

I'm still not sure about gas in Europe (Spain, Portugal, France). I will take 2 x 6kg propane bottles, one full. Can someone give me the 'gas in Europe made simple' explanation'?

I need to get some headlamp beam deflectors (2009 Fiat Ducato) - any advice?

2 x 6Kg bottles should cover you comfortably for that length of trip

refillable gas bottles are the real answer

alugas lightweight refillable cylinders (http://www.autogas.co.uk/alugas-cylinders.htm)
We had them fitted and we are very happy with them:cool:
We have 2 but one would suffice for France
We filled up 3 times, very easy and just to test the system.;) We should have had them fitted years ago. What a relief to know that gas is just around the corner at the fuel station:D
