Bergama - Pergamon
Great place for a stop for a few days is Bergama. Lots to see there and some good options for camping. Theres a camp just as you come in to town on the left. they charge 30TL (15Euro) per night for campsite and 2 people. It is possible to free camp at the other end of town just past the Red Bisilicia. 39 7'18.03"N,- 2711'3.87"E. There is a large carpark area with lots of grass and trees.

Theres a wonderful cafe called Sofa Cafe just across the road with free WiFi and great food and coffee.

You can walk to the cable car for the Acropolis as well as the town markets etc. A great town for a few days or longer if you need a break. Very friendly people.

Current temps are approx 18-25c so it very comfortable.

I can vouch for this free camping site July/Aug 2011. I arrived at about 11pm, parked up. Didn't get moved on, several other motorhomes there. Didn't go to cafe, but drove up to the acropolis on the hill, just watch narrow road coming down. Met lovely young couple Dutch lady and Turkish man touring in 1978 VW without a reverse gear, amazing how a whistle summoned seven young men to push it backwards to get out of the car park!
