It is worth stopping at Lac du Der............there are several places to stop.

The tourist office has free WiFi

We last stayed at Port De Chantecq (Marne dept 51) which has a bird hide near by. You can't see the lake from the parking as there is a big dyke. Good cycling.

It might be worth looking at Pierrepont near Laon if you like lakes. They've got an extensive area of woodland that is where there was peat cutting centuries ago. This has left a very interesting set of rectangular 'etangs' that are great for fishing (about 2 euros for a day ticket) and there are fantastic walks through the nearby nature reserve. Fishermen camp overnight, and there should be ample room for a motorhome!

Hi there are plenty of really nice places here, around lake Geneva lots of places to wild camp and also sites, they have some nice beaches around the lake and Evian is really nice to visit. You can always then come up here to the mountains where there is skiing in Winter and mountain biking in the summer, white water rafting, lovely walks lots and lots of things to do and wildcamping is plentyful. If you need any more info let me know. Oh by the way the fishing in the lake is great and very tasty!!!
