We've planned to meet up with some friends in Thirsk on Saturday and were going to be extravagant and go on the racecourse site for a night, but it's full. Has anybody parked up for the night in Thirsk without any probs and if so where? Thanks in advance.

When the racing is on everyone has to move off the CC site to a field at the top of the racecourse. To get on to this field you go through a car park where all of the horseboxes park up. Try parking in the car park.
To get there you come out of the CC site, turn left towards Thirsk, in about 150m take first left up alongside Aldi or Netto or Lidl (not sure what it is called). Road takes you along back of CC site, past a social club then the stables and then the car park.

Hi Sue, we stayed on a site behind a pub in Carlton Minniot, can,t remember the name of it,just before the turning for Alugas.
we did stay overning on the Coach park in Thirsk but that was in December.
Have you tried ringing the site direct, they may have a cancelation last minute.
I think the site used for race days is locked overnight as it is used as a football field by all the local clubs.
we are in Thirsk this weekend on a cl maybe see you in town.
Best wishes
