Been mountain biking around this area all week.
Taken note of loads of places to stop, plenty for Chris when he gets back home!!
Took a while to find them all again on google too!!! Some are only suitable for smaller vans. I'm also trying to find out about Raiders Road near Clatteringshaws Res. Sadly I couldn't find a ranger when I was there, some signs say NO, others just say no tents, but there's a huge main CP in the middle and a small CP near each end. Main CP is a great site.

Sorry Chris
I was cycling up valleys, then going up & over to come down another. I found some even better sites with amazing views, but they're up logging tracks and probably used as truck loading sites. Which reminds me, if they're working locally, many artic logging trucks run these single track roads!!
I'm back up in a couple of weeks, so I'll try & find a ranger regarding the Raiders Road

Also one I forgot from my local list (53.812576,-2.151126) above briercliffe, near burnley.

Sorry chris!!

No problem camping here. Otter Pool is a great place. Forestry Commision allow wild camping as long as you repect your surroundings.

I know this spot well but wouldn't recommend it as it's overgrown now and would hardly be able to get a car through. OP 55.234828,-3.921677 Glen Shinnel

There's no-where much else to park up there so if you are relying on it you'd have to travel a fair way back.
