On the A832 past Second Coast travelling north there is an off road parking area on the offside suitable for overnight parking. The parking area is protected from the road by a row of stumps. Its just a walk across the road onto the beach. There,s only two houses in the bay and the parking area is protected from view.Stayed there Easter 2007.

We have stayed here on a few occasions, the only down side is the speed of the passing traffic.

We stayed overniht in a good sized parking spot, a sort of old quarry, above and a little beyond the viewpoint over Gruinard. Great views out to sea but in the morning the midges were apalling.

Gruinard beach is very nice, but the real jewel on that section of coast is Mellon Udrigle. Mellon Udrigle Feature Page on Undiscovered Scotland (http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/mellonudrigle/mellonudrigle/index.html)
At Laide take the single track road to Mellon Udrigle and Opinan
There is a very basic campsite, without any facilities except a water stand-pipe, but it's only 4/night. Or park in the car park by the beach for free.

Happy camping, Stewart
