We stayed here Monday night on our slow jaunt back home. It was blowing a hoolie, raining on & off, but we spent the afternoon wandering and watching the herd of wild ponies galloping about which was great. By night the cloud cleared enough for a magical moonlit lake. No hassle whatsoever. Thanks kernowprickles!:hammer:

We stayed here this weekend for one night, although it took a while for us to find the carpark area, we did eventually and had a lovely quiet & peaceful night. As it was dark when we arrived, it was quite exciting to open the blinds in the morning to see what view we had....which was a very large, calm lake which we had all to ourselves!

Couldn't see any notice about overnight camping, but there was a wooden board at the entrance that had obviously been wrecked by vandals so don't know what that used to say?

Really good spot - plus to added bonus of watching the ponies.

Been there yesterday.
There are two carparks, both with excellent view over the lake. The bigger one (higher on the map) used to have toilet in the past, but now there is a sign that toilet facilities been permanently closed due to vandalism. When we came in, we spotted new info-board. It says that its forbidden to swim, doing water-sports etc, and that fishing and angling is prohibited (license and permissions needed). But nothing about overnight stay - there were couple of campers.
The second carpark - is smaller but still suitable for quite big caravans, there is no facilities but you can stop much closer to the lake, and its hidden from the road view a bit - very quiet and nice place to stay.

Near both carparks - one minute drive - there is campsite with all facilities where you can stay for a night to empty toilet, top up your battery water etc. Stay At Colliford (http://www.colliford.com/index.php/stay-at-colliford)
But unfortunately the campsite is quite close to the mainroad so in the night you can hear the cars, and there is no view on the lake, and no access to the lake from campsite.

Hope that info will be usefull for someone.

Thats how it look like
