Hi Sam,
regarding a clutch for your Dads 609d, Dronfields near Oldham are the largest Merc breakers in the country and will have everything he will need and are very reasonable. I hope to meet up with you and Gary sometime, the Welsh venues looked very good. As we live in East Lancs we would have to leave work fairly early to meet up with you somewhere, we have just returned from a 17 day trip via Newark, Bulford, Hailing Island, Stourport-on-Severn and Blackpool. Just took days owed from our previous years holiday entitlement. Ialmost forgot to mention Dronsfields phone number, 01457 871717,
regards,
Roland.

Samm, Do U mean a used clutch or a new one.
As U know I work in the transport industry & it is total false economy to fit a used clutch.
The work involved is the same as fitting a new one.
I think that U meant a new one at a good price?:D

Is it possible to overnight at Calais docks? if yes, please give me detailed instructions when driving off the Ferry. It would be most appreciated.

U can park with the trucks just as U go out of the docks on the left.
Just beware of the asylum seekers!

Grath, It makes me edgey thinking of the Asylum seekers. We will be arriving at 01:00 hrs (very early morning) Any chance of those guys running around at that time??

Yes, but they R looking for trucks coming into the uk.
I think U would be ok, although I would do an hours drive & park in a village.
Edit.
I do not think they would bother a M/H, but make sure they have noughing to eye up & steal!

I will keep your advice in mind Grath. Play it by ear, if it's cool, OK. If not, will head out and crash out along the way. Thanks anyway.

There was an Elf Garage near to Dave Wests beer & wine supermarket. It was off the 1st junction down out of Calais.
You could always stop there, however I think u should be ok with the trucks at the ferry port.
Just park in clear view & near to the kiosks if u r worried.
Another alternative, is to go into Calais center & park in the town.
Still think better to get an hour down the road & much quieter!:D
Edit.
My knowledge of the area is a little out of date & perhaps someone with up to date knowledge can help u better.
Anyone?????
