A delightful road side wide site with a very nice little comunity of local dog walkers, boaters and general folk that stop and chat. Also a couple of fulltimers that move between this site and others locally. Local park nearby with water tap on the main building (light green) by the park carpark. Local Tescos 20 minute walk each way, or 3 minute drive.

We were so enchanted we stayed 2 nights. Felt very safe.

Hi

No I'm not there ATM. Is that the road that goes up to a small village wich becomes a dead end? If so I didn't notice a carpark.

Google Earth it

Looking for a wild site in Truro and spotted this but we don't use sat nav so do you happen to know the road name please? I can see Malpas Road is next to the canal or on the other side Newham Road. :anyone:

I have lived in Malpas all of my life, except the last two years. Definitely a good spot & we're all friendly haha! So I'm sure if you strike up a conversation someone will direct you to other spots etc. There are very old shelters where that photo was taken, which my dad used to jump from with his friends and go swimming. It was a well known swimming spot! :) If you walk over to the shelters, you can walk up some steps and follow the woodland on a little walk (great for dogs, but mind the drop so keep them on their leads!). If you carry on to Malpas Village you can catch the enterprise boat to Falmouth for the day. You won't be able to park in a big van in the village but it's hardly a long way to walk (there is a turning spot at the very end but it's only big enough for a transit van at the max!). In the summer it's packed for the yearly egg throwing competition :lol-053: There are toilets at Malpas Park- hidden away quite well from the road, but I'm sure you'll find them!

Its still there but the blue sign says 4hrs max stay The other spot mentioned by Biggles has had a single van parked at the other end for months with piles of rubbish and a car used by the owner its gone now but only after the council shifted it so arrive late and leave early or another spot will be lost knowing Cornwall Councils Policy towards Motor Homes
