Heading there tomorrow, been a couple of years since i visited, just wondering what the latest is?

The layby close to A66 was getting a "refurb" about a year ago when i passed through, are people still overnighting there?

Station Lane was a popular choice, free parking 6pm-8am then display clock in dash after that, is it still the same?

Also, the carpark behind the main street (looking at the beergarden of the Oddfellows Inn) had quite a few campers in usually, any change?

Cheers folks

Although you cant just pop into Keswick from here quickly, we stay in a smallish parking area approx 1000ft at Latrigg, next to Skiddaw. You could walk into town but it would take at least 40 mins but great place to stop. You just need to park considerately as its busy in the morning. Free view available too, dare i say it :-)

also here if the link works : this is walking distance .

Out of season we've overnighted outside the C&CC site. Also in the rugby club carpark after donating a few quid behind their bar.

Quick update - we stayed in the layby off A66 as usual. No problems - 2 other campers there too. Half of the layby is closed off, seems to be being used as a bit of a works depot.

We're here tonight. Only us at present but seems ok. Most of the works have gone now, just a skip and a pile of chippings left. Don't murder us will you?? ;)
