Quiet, picturesque village on the coast between Southwold and Aldeburgh. Huge lake, with boats for hire (11 per hour, though!)

Main car park in the village is free and has NO parking restrictions listed. It's empty at night, too.

Thanks for this suggestion - I've also added this to the POI database :)

They don't want ANYONE except themselves in Aldeburgh! What a place! I couldn't get out quickly enough. Even the '1 Shops' are '20 Shops'! I had a feeling that there might be a higher than average ownership of club blazers and shotguns in the town. :ninja:

there is a car park next to the boat club were you can pull in to now it has a small 2inch by 2 riveted on the big Bord saying no stopping over night , a few of us think the boat club unlawfully put it there as the council say you can park there.
stay off the wall big fine.

while we are in this area so to speak. Does anyone know what the car park further down the road is like? 52.160849,1.604854
Also the small place just off the beach, with what looks like vehicle access to the beach. 52.167967,1.607888

Thanks :)

We stayed there for one night last bankholiday. Think it's 2.50 all day from 8am - 6pm or 1.20 for 2 hours. Nice and quite right by the beach and there are public toilets near the lake.

your wrong there is a car park out side the boat yard, but some one has popped riveted a 2 inch by 2 inch no over night parking badge on the sign that states motor caravan parking here.
there is a wall were every one use to park on you cant now and the side of the wall says something like 300 notes fine if you park here but the weekend i was there it was loded with over a hundred or so of cars they never got fined nor did the non motorcaravan vans that sat there.
i satyed here for the night and no one told me to move on.

Aldeburgh car park opposite the boat yard with the large building. however i would leave befor the cars start to fill it up as you can get blocked in and the boatys that tend to there boats cant get in if there are to many pople parked up. we stayed there a few weeks ago (in my blog you will find this) and never got challenged at all and this was when my van was unpainted as well. but as i say the space is small and also befor i forget no hgv type vans they dont like them lol its on the Bord i think is were i saw it.

Hi

Just returned. Couldn't get your co ordinates on my Garmin to check out the exact locations you posted DonkeyToo, but the car park at 52.159823,1.604176 had a no overnight parking sign, however we cycled past at about half 8 am on Monday morning and there was a MH parked up- looked like it had been there all night.

The small place you mention had no restrictions, there were 4 cars parked in it when we cycled by. Nice view of the beach but it was quite close on the road.

Hope that helps you.
