does any1 know of a sosta in florence close to the city centre? ive been before but stayed at camping michelangelo last time because the mrs wanted leccy and it was as much use as a chocolate fire guard lol, we now have a solar panel so the need for leccy is lower than last year.

Not been in the van but the CAMPINGCAR-INFOS (http://www.campingcar-infos.com) site lists several in Ferenze (Florance)

I know they have changed the site so it now doesnt translate

On the first page in the middle click "Cliquez pour entrer!

Then on the left click "Chercher / Ajouter une Aire

Scroll down the list of countrys and click on Italie

On the map click Tuscany number 18

You can then zoom in or out of the map and click on an Sosta or choose the Ferenze ones from the list on the left

Once you have the Aire page you should be able to highlight and copy the text and past it into a google translate page

We stayed at the Big Sosta on Via Michele Mercati which you can see on the google page on CampingCars Info - select the Firenze no. 2813. There is plenty of spaces and although surronded by houses/flats its quiet at night. We got a bus into the city centre from across the street - but you need to get tickets from the shop on the same street before boarding. Cant remember bus number , the attendant at the sosta barrier advised us as well as the lady in the shop.

Hi, We usually use the campsites, but we did stop here for one night several years ago. Worth a try.

no dice tried it tonight but it is a tow away zone till 3rd November, per haps they are going to re-surface the road or something, Shame it looked quite nice.
Tried all the listed ones not sure Michael Angelo wanted 38 euro a night so we are at the slightly less expensive Camping a bit further out 5km but 28 euro a night with free but very slow wifi. 43.79039,11.29098
