Not the road. Where a bloke from Donny fillers his Sat nav slaveishly and ended up driving over a precipice?

Charged by plod for due care I believe....he had a slim defence, Muppet of the year guilty as charged.

..the very one!!or very close, well remembered! But bl**dy satnavs, I followed mine recently took me down a narrow windy windy road and got to a low bridge that I couldnt getunder so had to reverse back for ages... then found there was a perfectly navigable main road parallel!

Thanks but there's no rush if you have other things to do. I know Tod and Hebden but I don't know where this spot is. My first thoughts were it's probably private land, but I do hope it's not as there's a real need for more wildcamping spots in the Calder Valley.

I live quite near but i cant even think where the turn off is! Will look forward to checking it out, its only a few miles away so no problem. I agree about spots around here. Did frist wild camping trip to galloway recently and found amazing isolated spots on beaches, lakes etc, used the poi db on satnav and it was so easy. When i got back i checked out all the spots around here on google earth and they looked really disappointing in comparison, mostly laybyes on side of road. As i have a dog i prefer to be abit more off the road. let me know if you know any good ones!

I know where this sight is. Its quite a quiet stretch of railway too. There's an ok takeaway & shop about 2/3 mins walk away.

You can also camp in Todmrden cricket club, they are a small CL site, and right next door to park where show is, theres a gate in the hedge to get into park. Great for kids in there anytime

Its by the main road heading up towards Burnley - I guess it could get a bit noisy but not so sure. Not a bad place to go walking/MTB riding or with dogs if you want/need plus not so sure the farmer will appreciate it. worth a try though.
