Hi

Just become a member of this site, came across it looking for somewhere to stay in a motorhome over Easter near to Whitley Bay. Really fancy visiting Beamish and doing some surfing on east coast.

Please could anyone let me know of wild camping within this area as all campsites are fully booked and we dont really need to stay on one!

Thanks

Kay x

What van do you have as there are some places I can give you. Some are only suitable for a small van.

At Tynemouth where the surfers park up through the day is pay and display and it may be rowdy overnight. There is a place between Seaton Sluice and Blyth where the odd van overnights that I have never put on here as at one time it was a gay hang out but you can park well away from the public toilet at the centre of it. You can easily drive away if you were affected by it. Saying that, I think if it still goes on, they keep to their own crowd.

Hi Chris,

If you go due East (on the other side of the roundabout) you will see the B road called Hartley Lane. Just by the wording is a small, discreet parking spot on the North side of the lane. This is only suitable for a small van but is a good hideaway. It is used by dog walkers and anyone with a dog has immediate access to a lovely area for walking their dog.

I think you mean West rather than East ... is this the spot Seaton Sluice - Google Maps (http://tinyurl.com/6urx8s7) ?
