travelling from the east on the A83 as you enter Arrochar there are several parking areas. First couple say no overnighting. We pulled into the picnic area on the right just past the visitor centre, a french unit was already there. There is a wooden post clearly giving indication that caravans are not allowed but as were are not a caravan decided to stay. No problems,it was set back away from the road . Perfect before a trip to Inverary and Loch Fyne oyster shop/restaurant.

You are correct about the two main carparks at Arrochar, now deffinitely NO CAMPING, NO OVERNIGHT PARKING. NOT TO BE USED FOR ANY FORM OF RESIDENTIAL USE, ETC. ETC. THE LIST IS ENDLESS.:
We have stayed on these car parks many times, in the past, I shall look out for the alternative you suggest. thanks for that. I noticed that Rest & Be Thankful park is still o.k. YET!!!!
