Hi,
I have uploaded (I hope) a pic taken from the top of Phare de Gatteville (or Barfleur lighthouse). If you are going u to the Cherbourg peninsula it is well worth the visit. Stop o/n below.

Lots of WWII museums if you are interested. Caen is particularly good altough it can be busy.

Lots of small towns - our log is with another couple at the moment so I can't give you any names of places..............over to someone else:wave:

Interesting because it's the town featured in the longest day where the U.S. paratroops landed and one was hanging from the church tower all day, hoping the Germans didn't look up. There is a dummy paratrooper hanging there now and a stained glass window featuring the incident in the church. The American cemetery if very moving, partly because of the number of Jewish servicemen who chose to come when they could have remained in the States.

If you follow this link and scroll down to the bottom there are some pictures from my last trip to Normandy. Mont St. Michel and the bay are well worth visiting.

We get there at lunchtime on Monday and will be moving along the coast, so look out for the Green W on the windscreen.

I think ours worked out at around 76 one way - we used Tesco vouchers and a small amount of change - btw that is for a very off peak crossing at dark o'clock!
Our van is 7.5m.

I think if you go to the Eurotunnel site just put in the details and it will give you a price.......that reminds me..............
