Just been up to Spean Bridge up past Fort William and back yesterday (Saturday). We travelled up during Friday night. We passed around 50 Motorhomes scattered in various places alongside Loch Lomond & Loch Linnhe. Shame we were not in our Camper. What a view to wake up to in a morning? Shame about the RAIN and the Midges though.

We did a large chunk of that area about a couple of months ago and I got asked twice, THROUGH THE DAY!! "You won't be stopping here tonight sir will you?" It wouldn't be half as bad if they had good quality, reasonably priced sights 'cos it's a lovely area, but if you're gonna wild it up there don't pick a lay-by, pick a side road or just look for green on the map, nobody seems to bother with you on forestry parks or plantations.....:D :D

The beautiful picnic spot on the east side of Loch Linnhe between Corran & Fort William, (we noticed last week,) now has hight barriers, 14/09/07.

I am not surprised. Last year we stopped there for a brew and the amount of rubbish we saw was unbelievable!!!

Mentioned the barrier several months ago and incurred the wrath of a Mr Telford!
Tourist Information told me it was to keep "that sort" out and said nothing about rubbish, in fact were quite open to their wish to support accomodation in the Fort William area.
Down in South Devon at present...try wildcamping there!
