No - it's not in the POIs ...

Can someone check whether or not overnight parking/sleeping is permitted?

Thanks :)

I will take a drive up and see for myself but i have definatley seen people stopping overnight. We take kids to hit some golfballs in the field beside it and not noticed any signs before.

i know the people that work in the tourist info office there and they say ur not suppose to stop there, but they do turn a blind eye to it.the main problem is that local lads meet up there late at nite(loud music and do-nuts).if u go 100 yards up the road(a616 to cuckney)across from the green burger hut,u can park there.

I think billi referred to this location apparently popular with the boy racers 200 yds away on the way to Doncaster is another laybye I have used on several occasions with no bother

Thanks for the info :)

The A616 layby is not segregated or set back from the carriageway, so would not be a safe place to stop overnight.

Hi just been up and everything was closed for the night but as you can see apart from myself parked on the left there was already another van parked for the night. They had even been so nice to leave out a bit of water for anyone with a dog :) also a nice picnic area. There was no mention of overnighting being prohibited.

This site has been redeveloped and is now a carvery style pub "The Alders", believe it also has a barrier on the entrance

Thanks for the update ...

This was removed from the POIs last August, so if you located it from your copy of the POIs, they're well out of date!
