I have been reading a couple of old threads about how people came to have their user names. Whilst entertaining it also highlighted some names I had not seen for a while. People that used to be regular contributors but now we don't hear from.

For me it showed that the forum is always changing. Some people make a song and dance about it and others drift in and out quietly so as you may not even notice. Whoever it is and whatever the reason, it is always a shame when one of our friends stops contributing.

I feel a little sad now that I've noticed how many people are not around so much these days. Although I'm sure a lot of it is because they are outside having fun!

........ and the reason that I have not noticed their absence ......... because it's still a good forum which continues to evolve, be helpful, entertaining, and have a good mix of people. :)

I'm curious to know how many people, like me, only belong to this one MH/camping forum?

I keep an eye on 3 or 4 but this is far & away the best freebie & I don't pay for forum access. But my main interest is boaty forums anyway.

The name? It's the treasure protecting dragon from The Hobbit, but I guess most of you would know that.

I do spend more time on here though as this site has the right balance of humour bordering on insanity to appeal to my weird sense of humour.

This is the only forum proper that I belong to. I do have a small facebook group but they are mostly mates of old (in internet terms).

I am only a member of this forum. I did join a different Motorhome site a while before I joined here but had a horrible response to my new member Introduction post so I never went back on!

I am a member of another, but really only spend the little spare time I have on this Forum. It is great Fun highly informative and definitely the best I have come across. I have only been motorhoming for just over 12 months, I hired the first few times and got the bug, so jumped in with both feet and bought the Rivera 181, it fits the bill nicely. As for my forum name, I have used the same one on most sites since having a computer, it came from the job I do and my year of birth. Simples 🐒

shush,don't tell the others !

I'm only a member of this one and a smaller motorhome wild camping forum.

I don't like the big mainstream sites. A lot of couples with very big rigs and one upmanship about how much your van cost and how new it is etc.

Whereas on the wild-camping forums there is a much bigger mix and age range of people, self builds, people on budgets, practical people, and people willing to try new things :)

I'm only a member of this one and a smaller motorhome wild camping forum.

is that a smaller forum, or a forum for smaller motorhomes??

It's a smaller forum whose name can't be mentioned :lol-053:

I am on this site as well as two other sites which are much the same, I find with this site that there is usual a lot of help offered if some one has a problem either with their motorhome or in life it is up to you if you take the advise given. I enjoy coming on here and reading the posts and some times some of them are so funny that my wife thinks that I have finally flipped and gone mad. Because I am disabled and no longer work I have loads of time on my hands so most of my home time is spent on the computer looking through different forums to try to broaden my knowledge and hopefully pass on what I have learn t.

Reading another thread someone asking for a route from Spain an though of Garth who used to help with these requests with his knowledge of Europe Anyone know if he's well and still on here

05-08-2012, 21:05
I belong to the wildcamping site as well as this one and find both have given me a greater knowledge of motorhomes
and the type of people who enjoy them.Long may this continue. As for the Hobbit name,I'm five foot four, fat,go on adventures,
and if I'm spared till next spring I'll be seventy,so I'd make a passable older Bilbo.

I only belong to this MH forum and one "selfsufficientish" forum. Enjoy both as they have a good mix of contributers. Have flicked in and out of a couple of other forums but they can be a bit of a timewaster so ration myself! Name...boring.. initials..included the middle one as without it I am RC (say it quickly!) and although I can be, I would rather be a "wreck" than a pain! :rolleyes2:

I am only a member of this forum - really love the people on here!

This is the only forum I bother with. Am a member of auto-sleepers owners site but haven't found a lot of activity on there, and then only because we have an autosleeper (obviously!).

This site is quite dynamic, funny, very informative and definitely worth the joining fee, which I only paid up to get me mitts on the POI info ;) but has turned out to be worth it for all the extra banter.

Hats off to Phil and all the other contributors!
