Car Park within 200m of River Mersey With sand dunes. By sports centre and Antony Gormley's Another Place Antony Gormley's Another Place (http://www.sefton.gov.uk/default.aspx?page=6216)

Good area, good beach and you can watch all the ships entering the Mersey from the beach. You could also get fit and swim at the sports centre!!

Good TV reception, BT Fon and station to Liverpool only 3/4 mile away, safe to leave vehicles in adjacent side streets

Amazing place, well worth a visit! Wish we had the MH then, rather than the caravan.

The local boy-racers and chavs are a total pain-in-the-**s here tonight. Spoiling an absolutely stunning sunset.

There is a no overnight parking sign up

Is this an official sign supported by a Traffic Regulation Order or byelaw?

I don't know. I am taking my dog for a walk down there later and will take a photo and send it to you.

The sign is on the entrance road to 3 car parks including the one on POI map

That appears to be a sign erected by a local. There is little likelihood of enforcement.

Thanks for taking the trouble to post the picture :D

We overnighted there last July. No Problems ..

Spooky Iron men, evidently cast from a mould of Gormleys body .

Sent photos to our grandsons, 10 & 7 . They were hugely impressed !

" OOH Look !... Thev have got willies ! "

We stayed on the night of 22nd December on our way to Glasgow for Christmas. You can see where we parked next to the Coastguard station. I think there are meant to be double yellow lines there but they were either washed away or covered in sand and gravel. I displayed the disabled badge just in case!

It was blowing a gale in the night but we awoke to glorious sunshine. It was very busy on 23rd when we eventually got away. The new road out to the motorway meant that I missed Tescos for fuel and ended up paying motorway prices!!37815
