When I use the pop-up box for the forum smileys, clicking with the mouse inserts the smiley in the post, BUT ... sometimes it doesn't.
(I use the codes too, but I ain't got the memory I used to have...).

Now then...

Firefox is my browser of choice.

So ... is it really the Firefox browser that's doing this, or is it actually Mr Firefox of Wildcamping Forum fame, sneakin' around and sabotaging me smileys? :lol-053:

It wasn't me I promise :D

I have the same problem sometimes. It's a javascript function and sometime the connection or the server is a bit slow and it doesn't register.

You can try updating your Java to the latest version, or did you know you can also drag and drop smilies from the side bar. That always seems to work but sometimes leaves a bullet point in front of the smilie.

well have tried all the browser at one time or another at moment only got 4 on machine firefox, chrome ,safari{so goody well not it rubbish so slow}and ie ok ie should be updated but it running alright ,and just playing with something called lunascape which is firefox. The Gecko engine is recommended for those who use Firefox add-ons or Web applications such as webmail to use complex JavaScript.
Lunascape implements the latest version of the Gecko Engine, which we optimize and fine-tune to offer improved capabilities, functionality, usability and faster JavaScript operation
. ie Trident is the engine behind the popular Internet Explorer (R).
Although it's one of the most popular web browsers and covers the largest number of websites, its relatively slow rendering speed is a known drawback.
webkit Webkit is a rendering engine on the rise. It is open source and provides speedy Web browsing. However, there are quite a few sites that do not display properly with Webkit.

all in one runns ok allows me to switch on the fly

Huh!

I am thick. Have tried inserting the smileys as BB code in signature, but tells me I have more than 100 characters so not working.

Or perhaps not allowed images etc. in signature.

right it wont let you do it but it will let you put a smilie in to your signature and it wont let you put one from your pc so need permission changing to allow you to do that tried linking it from skydrive and media file as these are two of the many share sites that i use for back up as running short of hard drive space and it wont accept the link it come up as file not found box red x
