Thanks for the update.

I presume this is LR Houghton (A689)?

It's much easier to update if the name is provided.

:lol-053::lol-053::lol-053: you never did ! I pass that way quite often and see the occasional Van parked up. Poor you. I've seen some not so good attempts at advertising (completely unsuitable) wildcamping camping spots in cumbria but that's the biscuit.

its what truckers have to do. boss does not pay for parking so a lay by has to do.

Whats wrong with wagon drivers???

I stayed here twice last year. Yes its not pretty, but it does the job, it provides a free place to stay within spitting distance of the M6. And there's a bacon sarnie from the 'van of death' in the morning!!

nothing wrong with drivers i was a long distance driver for nearly twenty yrs trying to save folks from wrecking there pride an joy theres a damn good chance of ripping taps or other thing that stick out remember campers or m/h lack ground clearance that hgv benefit from yeah granted good buttys but nwould nt risk loosin a water tank or taps or full exhaust...... im a bit more mechanically sympathetic than most maybe

This layBy has been totally resurfaced about six months ago so is now suspension friendly.
