Take the road west out of Braemar to the road end. There is a hard standing car park just over the Linn of Dee bridge which does not display any signs regarding overnight parking.Downside is there is a parking fee which I think is £2 per day which pays for the upkeep of the car parking area.

Excellent area for walking or mountain biking with flattish paths to GLen Derry or to Glen Geldie

If you are a member of the National Trust for Scotland or National Trust there is no parking fee. The site has got toilet facilities too.

Just west of bremar ther looks to be the old road running next to the river seen plenty of campers parked up there never seen any no overnight signs but I can't remember if it was before or after the ski slopes at Glenshee:eek:

Davy, theres plenty of spots running into Braemar from Glenshee and as you say an old road running off to the left of this road which I have seen people tent camping on.Theres also a lot of sheltered off road parking along the road to Linn of Dee.
