I have a budget of 80 to 100, and need a 600-1000w inverter before the end of December.
Ebay is the obvious answer but, I really need to know that I would get the item before the end of December.
I live in the Sheffield area and can travel locally to collect.
Any ideas where I can buy new within my budget?

Hi Beemer,

This place is offering " Next Day Delivery ", give them a ring and see what they say.

Modified Sinewave Power Inverters (http://www.caravantechnology.com/Power-Inverters-C18.aspx?gclid=CIOqk8eIprQCFW_KtAodxwEAJw)

Don`t be tempted by one of The Cheapies on the likes of Ebay, been there done that and they are useless.

I eventually spent a bit more and bought a Sterling Pro Power Q and it`s been perfect.

Looking at your MH and your previous postings I would go for a 1000W. It is only a few 's more. Only a suggestion. ☺

Beemer...

Make sure you look at the continuous and peak wattages. Cheap inverters are sold on peak values but these really are only for high start up loads. I would aim to buy an inverter with 1000w continuous.

Sinergex are very good.

Good advice thanks David, I would probably go for a 1000w continuous if it were for me but it is for my brother.
I have found that I have been able to manage with my 100w solar and two 115 leisure batteries for my needs.

I have an inverter in my van it came from Maplins and is ok for some things ( electric bike charger worked ok ) but because it is not a pure sine wave but the cheaper modified sine wave when I tried the breadmaker in it although it ran it made a loud buzzing noise ( a transformer noise I think ) which was not present when used on mains power.

Hi Beemer,

I've just joined this excellent site, so have only just read your info. In my VW LT35 I have inherited a ZIG charger and need to buy leisure batteries (1 or 2 ?). It also has a Waeco 3 way chest type fridge. I have been told I should get a compressor type Waeco (lower temp) and 2 x 110 Ah batteries plus a split charging system for wild camping. Do I need a solar panel as well. I have an aversion to cutting holes in my roof.

I don't know anything about split chargers but my ZIG instructions say they are not necessary. I would be grateful for any info. or directions as to where to obtain it.

Thanks in advance.

S J.
