Hi guys,
I'm looking to visit Lyon for a couple of days from tomorrow. Does anyone have any tips on wild camping spots there?
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks
Ali

Well we drove around in the nightmare road system for ages with no joy. We ended up giving up and are now in Annecy. Unless you want to be miles outside the city or pay a fortune for a spot in a rough area, Lyon is a bust for wild camping. We've been on the road for a year so far and have never given up on a city before now!

Thanks a lot. We're having a great time! Currently in the lovely Annecy and next stop Geneva!

Too late but might help someone. It appears that there is no provision for campingcars within the city area. Lyon Direct recommend Camping Indigo, Porte de Lyon, Allee Camping International, 69570, Dardilly (Tel 00 33 78 35 64 55) which is open all year and about 10min north of the city just off the A6. There is a bus stop within 50m of the campsite. Its not a cheap site but is 4 star. Port in a storm?

The low underpasses in Lyon are notorious for catching motorhomes out. Be prepared for a sudden braking and then reversing against the flow of very irate french car drivers. :rolleyes2:
