Found this spot the other weekend. On the quiet side of the lake and good for lake access.

Thanks, we are heading to the Lakes next week so might check it out. It does look a bit tight though - maybe only suitable for a smallish campervan? Think I'd prefer to be a bit more off the road with our 7.8m van.

AndyC, the Inn on the Lake further down the road will allow you to park overnight in their large flat carpark if you speak nicely to the manager (Gary Wilson) and patronise the hotel by buying breakfast. I asked last year but haven't yet managed to stay overnight myself.

The Inn on the Lake is on the busier west side of the lake in Glenridding. The beauty of this spot is it's on the quiet east side and would be a lovely spot on a summer's evening with a couple of chairs and a bbq on the little stoney beach opposite.

As regards the size of the parking bay, it is only big enough for one van as stated, but my van's 7.4m and I wouldn't have any quarms about parking it in there.

AndyC - did you get chance to take a look?

Jim
