Try again but send Angie on her own, never know it may work.
That's what I would do Linda is much more persuasive than me.

I'd defo try another place for a swoppsie. I had no problem at the local canal shop & have also swopped 13kg from 20mm to 21mm fitting at a garage - all without any "paperwork". FFS who ever keeps the paperwork on gas bottles?

Then when you find a helpful place you can switch your refill custom to them to say thank you can't you?

I don't have a problem at Go Outdoors, and its much cheaper, if you still want the bottle of Flyby, i can bring it further oop north to sheffield if that helps any for you

Gas bottle relay lol

Hi Gaz2676,

Have you tried the local council recycling dump. They will have a cage full of gas bottles. Five pounds will get you one, often with gas still in it.

I don't think our "Civic Amenity" let you take anything away - health and safety and all that. Most annoying when you see decent stuff being dumped in front of you!

If it works for you, I can take it from Saxilby and I'll see whitevanwoman at Easter at a gig, give it to her and she lives near Shap ... so that could be an option.

My local tip wont accept gas bottles tyre or batteries so generally are not available-but most anything else-they will also sell anything -adult bikes are a tenner and kids bikes a fiver anything else is barterable-always had bikes for the grandkids from there and if they were damaged or stolen-then no big losses-some good gear can be had from the tips -it is a great shame that a lot of good stuff is skipped and dumped -computers -vacuums ( lots of dysons) , garden stuff -any good stuff they leave out for folks to see -if not sold abig van comes around and takes it off -probably to boot sales etc .
Might be worth trying your local scap merchant also for the odd gas bottle
