The castle of Hardelot
About one hour or 50 k south of Calais 10 k from boulogne ideal overnight stop or or more
is just a short distance from the seaside town of Hardelot Plage.
In the village of Condette 62360
You can park ,free/wildcamp ,right in front of the castle. Go through broken stone gateposts
There is a path all round the castle which makes an interesting walk
The castle was built in the 9th century to guard the area from invasions.
In the 13th century it was used as a summer home for the counts of Boulogne.
The English king Henry Vlll and Anne Boyleyn once lived in the castle.
The area around the castle as several picnic places.
There is a large lake nearby you can walk around.

I agree Nick;), Excuse my ignorance but what's a templar knight:confused::eek:

Just decided I'm going out tomorrow to take some pics of a few real castle's nearby, watch this space:rolleyes:

the knights templar, lenny ,were the guys who normaly led the battles in the invasions of the holy land "the crusades" king richard the lionheart was one,
(reputedly) the organisation still exists today, although undercover.
look it up on the internet very interesting!

hi julie the pics were there last night but are gone now
they must have been deleted from there origional location

Hardelots a nice place. Well worth spending a while looking around. If you go into the forest there are a couple of picnic sites that I have used on numerous occasions. When you turn off the duel carriageway(Just before the toll road) at the bottom of the hill turn right (Hardelot is left here) theres an all night garage so you don't have to pay the motorway price.
Knights Templers where warrior monks. Look them up on google interesting group of people.
Can anybody explain what I have to do to see the photos.

i am trying again to post them have you any idea what this red cross means i quite often get this when trying to view other things

i am still learning i have re pasted the photos but still need help sometimes ive probably put them in the wrong place still trying to sus out what to put where
