Last week we stayed on the seafront at Meon Shore with no problems. There's no restricting signs and the loos are open til about 4ish.There's a watertap on the side of the loos.Smaller vans can get to the front via Titchfield, where as larger vans will have to get there via Stubbington or Lee-on-Solent. There's a 6ft 6in width restriction on the Titchfield road.Larger vans may have to parallel park rather than nose-on. Good views over the Solent to the IOW.

I live just up the road from there, and can confirm it's free parking and campers are fine. There's a good pub in Hill head, just a short walk from there just be careful as you are very exposed there and the weather can make it uncomfortable.

We stayed here on Sunday night, the first place we've stayed following recommendation on this site. Really nice place, quiet, lovely views, no issues. Note however that there is a sign saying a penalty charge is payable if (among other things) "the vehicle is being used as a dwelling or for any domestic or sanitary purpose" or "the vehicle is being used for sleeping or camping purposes" This appears however to be a generic sign the council place in all their car parks, as it talks of disabled bays and "parking in the marked bay" and there don't appear to be either of these.

Meon Valley shore fine. but I can't get this POI download to work to my TOMTOM, seems too complicated?
Is there a hard copy we can download and read ? I also find it difficult to navigate this whole site.

No there isn't a hardcopy option - you need to use Google Earth online, Autoroute or a satnav offline ...

For help with your TomTom take a look here TOMTOMFREE.COM - How to install POI (http://www.tomtomfree.com/Install_POI.htm) . This link is also included in the readme file that's included with the download.

And don't forget there's a POI Support forum too with lots of tips ...

That's such a shame - this is one of our closest and favourites

We were there a few weeks ago, just for the day, but never noticed the sign.

I just had a week at Lee on Solent and Meon and all the car parks are free and stop overable. Downside is the toilets shut at 8pm and open 9am. Lovely to wake up with the sea 10 feet from your door. Quick heads up on a carvery at the Inn on the Beach in Lee. 3.50 and well worth it. Its up by the sailing club just off the front.

Meon Shore is not advised as an overnight stop.
