They're good value, but I generally get mine free from by the camp site bins after a BH weekend. They generally don't take much effort to repair!

I've broken a couple of these. The plastic foot where the tubes reach the groung just isn't strong enough.
It's false economy to buy inferior products if you want them to last. Buying stronger chairs from a decent camping/caravan store is no more expensive in the long run.

Yeah, right. Go Outdoorss sell them at 7x the price of the Tesco ones. Now my cheapos are 5 years old, so the Go Outdoors ones need to last over 35 years to beat that.

Broken plastic bits can be fixed by binding them with cord & then soaking it in Araldite (or any available 2-part resin). This strengthens them significantly & I have a couple that I have rescued from bins that have been repaired like that, or had inserts rivetted into snapped legs, & gone on to provide many more years useful service. They aren't hard to fix if some lard ass abuses them.

True, but not many brollies are worth "rescueing" from bins. My own tend to get repaired using s/s bike spokes etc if everything else works OK. But brollies bought for a quid or so are not generally worth fixing.

I object to the modern trend of throwing stuff away if it can be repaired or still works. We are a very wasteful society & I admire the 3rd World capacity for make do & mend & recycling.
