Has anyone seen the Aurora Borealis?

I have been in search of them ...Norway was amazing ...saw a little glimmer but nothing spectacular..

One day I hope :)

The times I have been way up North, saw them virtually every night. Must have been lucky.

We had farm in North East Scotland, on top of a hill, saw them a lot. Sill see them now, we are on a smallholding on the coast.

Sorry, only just seen this.

Recently have been up in Feb 2011 and Jan 2013.

Kiruna (http://goo.gl/maps/g3RvY) was a particularly good spot for us. Drive 10KM or so from town, the lakes are all frozen and you can get a good view.

The other place that was good was on Mageroya, anywhere on the road between Honningsvag (http://goo.gl/maps/FHgGz) and North Cape (http://goo.gl/maps/Zu5A5)

I don't think I'd go in early Jan again. Dark by 2:30. lol
