hi all, have a look at these co-ordinates on google maps 55.586314,-4.639476 for a quiet place to stop if you`re passing through this area and are stuck for somewhere to stop. not the most picturesque place but quiet and good if you are travelling with your dog as it is next to a nature reserve with long walks. small hill driving into carpark and uneven surface so probably only suitable for smaller type vans. far enough out of town so no neds to worry about! no signs stating any parking restrictions, no height barrier, not pay and display. cheers, steve.

Just to add.

LPG is very thin on the ground in that part of Scotland (especially if you are coming from the Stranraer, West Dumfries and Galloway direction). There is LPG at Irvine and also Kilmarnock.

That's next to the sewage works and the paper mill so there may be a competition of interesting aromas :(
