We're new to aires, but not to travelling having had a wee Eriba caravan till earlier this year.

Arriving Eurotunnel terminal Calais at 18:00 French time on a Tuesday evening (10th Sept).

Would like to get a bit south down the coast for first stop. Was hoping to make it to Le Treport (been there before and like the town), but looking for recommendations between terminal and Le Treport if time is short.

Do aires fill up by this sort of time at this time of year? If really stuck can always go back to municipal campsite in Le Treport, but want to "do" an aire if possible.

Travelling down through France, then northern Spain, Portugal, back into Spain, . . . . . ??

Best thing to do is to download all the aires France, Spain and Portugal to your satnav. Drive until you want to stop and then search for POI (Aires) nearest to your then current location and let the satnav take you to your chosen location. We do this all the time. Works a treat.

Don't forget to spend a few days at the Spanish Aire at San Sebastian on your way through. The weather should still be good and its a fantastic resort and the old town is very interesting which also has two full streets serving authentic Tapa's. Yum

We use the aire at la baie de Somme, first motorway services on the toll rd but perfectly safe go round to the left after passing service point lots of excellent parking bays even a field up top to run the dog, our normal routine is of the Chunnel m/way to boulogne nip off to Auchan & stock up then on to baie de Somme ready for good start next day

You will find a goodly number of options in the POI downloads ...

The next update will be available about 1st September, so you might want to wait for the latest version.
