I had a stroll around Aldi in Biggleswade yesterday and found 2 x 8 LED Torches and 1 x 2 White LED and 1 Red LED headtorch, in other words 2 hand torches and 1 headtorch all including batteries for 4.99.

I bought the set even though I've already got head and hand torches, at this price I couldn't not buy them. I tried them out and they are great, really powerfull and the headtorch on Red is great for night map reading as it doesn't impair your night vision.

You can't have too many torches, right?

I bought a brilliant one from them last year,it was an LED torch with a luminous body easy to find in the dark,BUT it also had a bottle opener combined in it,a campers friend! I wish I could find some more.

We have bought some of the Aldi LED inspection lights. I think they are better than a torch.

You're right Carol, Julie carries a big Maglite and beats me with it.

" Shine a light ", lol. ( trying to be funny, it was an old saying, which I hope was a clean one ). As my son will say, " It's not a joke, if you have to explain or apologise ! " Better go now. :)

Just popped in to our local Aldi.

Bought a pair of walking boots, a yard brush and a bottle of Brandy (just in case Marie visits). :raofl:

Next time she goes shopping with Rossi she's going to buy her a huge maglite so Rossi can beat you with it (after you've used it to find the right van).

I love the bit in the writeup under the heading ATTACK RESCUE HEAD which reads;

"make use of the hard head to strike against glasses or other obstacles when in danger"

Glasgow kiss?
