I realise that a shower enclosure is a damp area, but do m/h showers have a vent to the outside? Just in the middle of building my shower area, and at the stage that I could fit a vent.Never had a prob with showers in vans in the past, but only very occasonal use .This one will be used a lot more in hotter climes.

Every touring machine we've had: boats, caravans and now the MH had/has a proper hatch in the bathroom. Essential in my view, whether hot or cold outside.

We have a coachbuilt Lunar Premier and the only ventilation in the shower is the bathroom roof vent, not directly over the shower, and the window.I treat it like the shower at home and make sure the window/roof vent is left open after a shower so that the steam can clear.

I normally stick a 280x280 rooflight in for light and air

Don’t try and save time or money by not putting a vent in, totally agree with siimplyloco and others you need one. Do it right and you only need to do it once (in relationship to building that is.)

Hi Sharon the blind is more for insulation than seeing in also to cut draughts down whilst using the room!

Never thought of insulation but a few draughts in a bathroom is always a good idea in my mind.

Just travelled through Herefordshire, I did notice it was very quiet there, didn’t realise that looking through roof vents was a form of local entertainment. But as they say “for warned is for armed.”

I fancy putting one of these in my bathroom area (I already have a roof vent) to help move air around! (it's a bit pricey, but you can get the non solar one too!)

There are cheaper versions available;

Smart Solar Smart Vent 300S – Next Day Delivery Smart Solar Smart Vent 300S (http://www.growyourownworld.co.uk/p/Smart_Solar_Smart_Vent_300S.htm?utm_source=GMC&utm_medium=CPC&utm_campaign=PLA&gclid=CKzlqtTE2rsCFZLKtAodsg4AFw)

I seem to remember reading some not very good reviews about them though, although this was a few years ago.

Ours came with a mushroom vent. We fitted a solar fan which seems to keep everything dry and pleasant. :-)

We have a solar vent on the boat, brilliant to keep a constant airflow and draw out air , Damp or otherwise

my toilet/shower room has a small non closing mushroom vent fitted in the roof and a window with opaque blind rather than the blackout blind as on the other windows

All you really need is one of those mushroom type of vents, you can open and close from inside, I very easily fitted one to my last motorhome that it actually lacked an opening ie window or roof vent, never had a problem, its smaller than a roof vent ie about 9 inches in diameter and works a treat.:scooter::scooter::scooter::scooter::scooter ::scooter::scooter:

Rodeo

I think I'll go for a plastic mushroom vent in the shower roof and if it needs more ventilation I'll make an opening flap with a 12v fan in it to mount on the side.
