Again on the road north of Kinlochbervie, continue to the end, to Sheigra. The grazing commitee allow camping behind the gorgeous beach, although no view of the beach from most of the area. Think this was 4. Honesty box.

Christine,

It's quite a few years since we stayed at Sheigra, I don't know if you know this but there is (was) a place to empty your loo buried in the sand just before the beach, it's hard to find, just a pipe (like a drainage pipe) with a cap on sticking up out of the ground and leading to an underground tank.

The lady at the first bungalow told me about it.

That looks like a really nice place to stay - thanks for sharing the photo

It is Chrissy - it's absolutely beautiful, if you climb to the top of the hill on the right, you can see the lighthouse at Cape Wrath.

I've just been looking at it on google maps, they seem to have improved the road, it was a bit "axle hungry" when we were there last. (Must be time to go back then?)

Looks great, you talk up a good reason to visit - unfortunately, it would be a 900+ miles round trip for us  and our old Bedford CF might not make that far in a week's trip :(

Shame, would have loved to have visited there - maybe one day :)

Make it a two week trip then and take your time :)
On the way to Sheigra stop at a place called Balchrick, there's a walker's carpark there and a footpath leading to Sandwood Bay probably the loveliest beach in Britain (but I'm biased) it's about 3 miles walk but well worth it.
Hope this link works:

Thanks, Boxerman, we didn't know this about the toilet emptying facility. Could be very useful when/if we return. Such a wonderful area......
