From the same stable, voted the most influential car maker by top gear , This model is like a beautiful woman, keeps you on your toes and has that "It " factor even the name Lancia (pronounced Lanchia ) Delta Integrale .... sends a shiver down your spine... the number plates are even cool TO Torino ( turin ) ...part of the Fiat group ...enjoy

Ok apologies in advance but it had to be done a legend the Stratos !!!! ...Evos and Imprezas brilliant cars ( not forgetting the Quattro too ) but something hard to describe about the Italian offerings. This one driven steady considering its value no wonder

I think the word should have been BELLISSIMA a car in Italy is a she therefore the word will end with A(single) or E if plural, and if I'm not mistaken the car iS powered by Renault engine and not a fiat, maybe some one might be able to shed more light on its origins, the engine I mean not the car, and for the Italian cars aficionados before I left Italy at the age of 18 my car was a GIULIETTA ALFA ROMEO(AZIENDA LOMBARDA FABBRICA AUTO):cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1: sold it to pay for working permit to come over to the Uk, 116 which was a lot of bloody money then.

Not sure about the Renault connection and I would be surprised, forgive my poor Italian of course I dont speak any really ..Prego ? lol ... Which engine do you refer too ? .

Of course nowadays Alfa Romeo, Lancia , Autobianchi , Ferrari, Fabrica Italiano Automobilio Torino grupa (o) ? ....all part of Fiat !!!

Lancia were the first manufacturer to use a wind tunnel, but a lot of Italian designs from the heart , to me sets Italian cars apart from the sterility of the Japanese offerings.
As irritating and beautiful in equal measure, hard to describe.

if I remember right the French produced a rear engined Renault (5??) type to use at rallies, if I get this right I think it was a GORDINI rear engine rally car, hence the connection to the fiat 126, maybe I have got this wrong but some thing at the back of my mind tells me I could be right?? :juggle::juggle::juggle::juggle::juggle::juggle::j uggle:

if I remember right the French produced a rear engined Renault (5??) type to use at rallies, if I get this right I think it was a GORDINI rear engine rally car, Perhaps you are remembering this

In response to Lancia's rallying success with the mid-engined Stratos, Renault's Jean Terramorsi, vice-president of production, asked Bertone’s Marc Deschamps to design a new sports version of the Renault 5 Alpine supermini. The distinctive new rear bodywork was styled by Marcello Gandini at Bertone.

designed by Marcello Gandini (not Gordini, but very similar) and was the mid engined Renault5 Turbo in response to Lancia's success, not Fiat but another Italian classic so not a million miles away

There was indeed a Gordini model Renault 5. I remember drooling over them in the late 70's, but sadly couldn't afford one.

Ah! Lancias :D

Lancia Fulvia 1600, the sweetest little car I ever owned (rhd, too!). Fast as a rocket and beautiful to drive.

Swine to source parts, though, unless you had a herd of rocking horses! ;)

Its not clear but I think it means he has fitted a CBR900 engine. The sound and the gear change speed match a bike engine. Lots of people have tried to fit bike engines to the 126 because they are small and compact. However, very few succeed in producing a practical conversion mostly because of the gearbox/differential issue (the stock gearbox is only designed to cope with 25 bhp) and vehicle inspection requirements. One guy on the Fiat 126 forum is currently producing a supercharged 2 cylinder engine (turbos don't work well in this application) that looks a more practical solution to the rather pathetic power of a stock 126

not very practical for the run to the shops I would prefer this and at 11500 reasonably priced compared to the others on this site Fiat ABARTH for Sale on Car and Classic UK (http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/list/69/abarth/)

i had a renault r10 rear engined once many years back . that had a push button electronic type auto box . it was a nice car realy but suffered from the tin worm quite badly as most cars then did . i also owned a renault 30 fast car ,fitted with the v6 engine .a renault 25 monaco and later the safrane turbo that was a very fast car the later two had voice synthesizers full heated and electric leather seats and the safrane had reclining rear seats virtually every extra that could be fitted was fitted , fantastic spec cars .
