As the attached tweet says, it is mildly terrifying when letters to the Daily Mail make more sense than mainstream analysis! :help:

Hello N. Brown,

it is, I think 1436 in the Middles East's calendar so the middle ages?

That's what we like to see, straight to the point, concise and in plain English.

May be the banks, pension and insurance companies should look at this and make their information booklets with the same format.

In 'The Beginning', they didn't have to, as they were 'The Power'! Not any more, thank God.:D

Nothing like a bit of fear to keep the general populace in check. World war, cold war, Millennium bug, Stock market crash, the Bogeyman, global warming and Bird flu have all been tried, but it looks like Islamic terrorism is going to be the theme for quite a while. Violence and religion is a hard combo to beat.

In my opinion, anyone who chooses to believe in something, whether it be a god, Father Christmas or fairies, they are welcome to do so. It is only when it becomes institutionalised that the problems occur, when the organisers of the religions try to compete with governments for power over a population.

If the rest of the world thougth like this it, would be such a better place.

I wonder when scientists prove categorically there is no such thing as god or an after life will we humans find other reasons to kill each other. Probably.
Richard Dawkins -The God Delusion. A good read.

It'll never happen because you need to die to find out for sure.

The trouble with that is, you're, well, dead. Therefore you can't tell anyone it doesn't exist.

Science is a bitch lol.

but you don't feel the need to check if you've truly seen the light

18-01-2015, 18:48
Yes, I agree. However, religious people don't see that as proof enough of something not existing.

I've probably mentioned this before, but Voltaire said: "Si Dieu n'existait pas, il faudrait l'inventer" ("If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him")

God or no god religion or no religion since man has walked this earth we have fought against one another why are we surprised that we are still aggressive to our fellow man. May be there is still a cave man in all of us. Just a thought.
