Cr Hamble Le Rice car park (School lane, next to Hamble point marina) now has Eastleigh council signs, No camping or sleeping in vehicles.

Another one killed off by people staying days on end! :mad2:

Inevitable I'm afraid: at one time late last year I counted seven of the b*ggers!

That's a shame - it was a lovely spot to stop ...

I've removed it from the Wild Camp POIs.

The said signpost. It doesn't look legal to me! I had a chat today with one of the volunteer foreshore wardens - the guys in this picture who clear up after the people who abuse the car park - and he said that there were no plans to police the site, and if someone turned up late afternoon and went the next morning, there wouldn't be any grief! He was, however, quite scathing about the people who squat in the motorhomes for days/weeks on end...

I took this photo last summer: a typical abuser

Would it be okay to stay there as you say for one night if you said you had driven a long way and you were tired would they allow it or would they still move you on? It really annoys me to see them abusing lovely places like that in my mind they are very selfish people, once again the minority spoils it for the majority :mad1: :mad1:

I wouldn't worry as there appears to be no policing at all. I was down there yesterday afternoon and there was little room left for cars, so I would imagine that given that fact you would have difficulty finding a place!

Height barriers have just gone in a bit further along the beach...

This is typical of what what us locals consider to be a nuisance. The six wheeler's been there some time now and this weekend he decided to take up three/four car spaces. His dobermann makes sure nobody bothers him...

The Frenchman on the left lives in the little VW while he's working at the marina. Doesn't make it OK though.
