Who are you saying goodbye to? The aircraft, the camper or the sun.

It flew over our garden at the end of June, absolutely amazing but you know because you were seeing it

We were gutted when we were at Ayr as there was an airshow on the following day but the car park we were on was pre booked so we had to move on, but on the Friday we seen them fly past and it was amazing

I was at the Airshow Saturday left Sunday morn beautiful plane its a shame to be grounded. Good show but sure it can be improved no commentaters and too short for the amount to be seen. Did have one gripe it said tickets only available on line 20.00 plus 1.95 booking fee, when I got to the show cash sales 20 quid no booking fee someone said 125,000 tickets sold so 1/4 mill in booking fees :rolleyes2: Also glad I took my own toilet the queues where ridiculous.

Still had a lovely day.

As a child I was priviledged to see the first Vulcan (VX770) on a regular basis whilst it was used by Rolls Royce @ Hucknall airfield (Nottinghamshire) for testing the engines being developed for Concord . Sadly VX770 crashed at another nearby airfield on 20 September 1958 killing all 4 crew and 3 people on the ground.

As an OAP I saw the last Vulcan (XH558) flying with the Red Arrows for the last time at my local (Southport) airshow. The video of this fight from the Vulcan cockpit is well worth watching (at 2m35sec my house is visible in the background). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63Htlsbmd00

The Vulcan and the Concord are the only planes I have known to stop all conversation when they flew by.
