He is relatively local to us and has appeared at our Folk Festivals. He has a number of CDs some with celebs reading and singing his compositions. My favourite id Brian Perkins reading his shipping forecast 'The Shipping Forecast' Read by Brian Perkins - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9QumF93PpY)

He is very good and part of my group of wits and wordsmiths I've followed for years.

Everyone from Tom Lehre to Pam Ayres pushes my buttons when it comes to witty writing. I still have copy of The Frank Muir Book which is a collection of quotes, short stories and general snippets of useless information. Have look for the Devil's Dictionary by Ambrose Bierce, which describes the piano along the lines of 'An instrument operated by the depression of the keys, and of the audience'

It all makes good reading.
